The BSMA Travel Grant is aimed to support our members in their professional and academic development, including attendance at professional meetings, completion of medical electives and gaining valuable learning experiences.

This grant provides financial assistance to help cover expenses such as registration fees, travel, and accommodation, enabling members to participate in valuable learning opportunities that enhance their clinical knowledge, research experience, and professional networks.

Applicants must demonstrate how the proposed activity aligns with their career goals and contributes to the broader BSMA mission of advancing medical education and healthcare within the Somali community.

Preference may be given to those presenting at conferences, undertaking electives in underserved regions, or engaging in activities that promote knowledge exchange and professional growth.

Successful applicants will be expected to share their experiences with the BSMA community, whether through a short report, presentation, or social media update, to inspire and inform fellow members.

To be eligible, applicants must: 

Be a BSMA Member (Full or Associate)

Study or work in the UK

Be able to demonstrate how the proposed activity aligns with their Professional Development
