Access to Medicine Programme
Widening Participation in Medicine - Introductory Programme
The BSMA Access to Medicine Programme is our flagship initiative providing a comprehensive, one-day workshop designed to support Somali and other underrepresented students in their journey toward a career in Medicine.
Running since 2017, the programme has been held across multiple cities in the UK, including Leicester, Birmingham, and London, providing much-needed exposure to hundreds of aspiring students from the British Somali and other underrepresented communities. Participants (typically aged 15-19), gain in-depth insight into medical school applications, life as a medical student, and the realities of a career as a doctor.
